Our regular worship service is on Sunday morning, 10:45 am - 12:00 noon. Our intent is to acknowledge the worthiness of the Lord through regular worship, and to understand more of what He desires for us by studying His Word.
We generally sing 3 or 4 hymns, with an occasional praise chorus. Currently, we are enjoying learning some of the new, exciting hymns by Keith Getty and co-authors. Different men of the church take turns leading the singing. We often have special music, either vocal or instrumental, usually by members of the church or their children, many of whom are involved in serious music study. See our current bulletin to have a better idea of what we do Sunday mornings. Our sermon, which is usually by Pastor Cobb, consists of a careful exposition of some part of the Bible, using insights from the original languages to help us understand what God is saying to us in His Word.
Pastor Cobb paused in his complete study of the Gospel of John and has covered I Timothy, focusing on the qualifications for elders, and the book of Malachi. As of April 6, 2008, he has returned to the book of John.
We have the Lord's Table once a month, where we remember the Lord Jesus Christ's death for us until He comes again. We baptize by immersion as candidates become ready for baptism.
"O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms." (Psalm 95: 1-2)
"Come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand." (Psalm 95:6-7)
